Abstract

summary. The English Channel is modelled by a simplified geometry which enables a quasi‐analytic solution to be obtained for the semidiurnal tide. This solution is then used to calculate the forced components of the quarterdiurnal tide from the non‐linear terms in the equations of motion. Copyright © 1978, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
