Abstract
From where does the astonishing singularity of Élisabeth Geblesco's text spring, if it is not from the artistry with which she relates her daily encounters with Jacques Lacan, their exchange on matters both professional and personal, committed to the page in the heat of the moment, in the author's energetic, almost dramatic style, and this for the last seven years of the great French psychoanalyst's life. Not only does she paint a lively and most unexpected portrait of this major figure of French intellectual circles in the latter part of the?20th century, (what interests Élisabeth Geblesco is how Lacan's ideas burst to the surface and in what form his ideas emerge in statu nascendi), but she also stages other key figures in the fertile hotbed of ideas and projects in France during this period. She then goes on to apply Lacanian concepts to her own field of specific research and sheds light on her own new and particularly apposite perspectives in the field of metapsychology (transference and its resolution), literary analysis, artistic creativity and political thought. This is a book of the upmost relevance for readers today.
