Abstract
Microfinance is not only about microcredit. Not anymore. The newly agreed consensus reflects a reality of schemes delivering a wide range of financial services. This paper recognizes three major services areas in micro finance delivery : microcredit, microsavings and microinsurance products, which can be combined, and defines these as "combined microfinance schemes". It offers an overview of the diversity of microfinance schemes in Latin America and the Caribbean in function of questions relating to their presence, their organizational structure, outreach and product interlinkages. This research confirms their growing presence in the region, especially amongst cooperative and banking structures. © De Boeck Université. Tous droits réservés pour tous pays.
