Abstract

Magnetic Particle Spectrometry is a straight forward technique to study the dynamic behaviour of super paramagnetic iron oxide nano particles. To ensure the same particle behaviour in the spectrometer as in a scanning device one has to measure the multi dimensional excitation response. By having a multi dimensional drive field with sufficient homogeneity, one can calculate various characteristics of the used tracer material. In this work, a drive field saddle coil geometry with optimized field profile and low power consumption is presented. The simulated and the measured field profiles are compared. © 2013 by Walter de Gruyter.
