Abstract

The article discusses the secondary predication in terms of cross-linguistic in the Netherlands. It notes that not much work was done on resultatives and encoding of resultatives relative to depictives and manner predication. It examines the results of a typological investigation. It suggests a semantic map which explains several types of secondary prediction in world languages. It explores the three types of secondary prediction including manner predictions, depictives, and resultatives.
