Abstract

In this review the many factors affecting normal neuromuscular transmission are analyzed. The practical value of clinical and laboratory data in anticipating the response of the individual patient to neuromuscular blocking drugs is emphasized. The clinical relevance of twitch height, tetanic fade, train of four value, etc., is discussed. 260 references are cited.
