The operating principles in an EIA process

Abstract

The Environmental Impact Assessment, often known as the EIA, is an essential process that is designed to evaluate the potential environmental repercussions of proposed projects before they are put into action. An examination of the key operational principles of the EIA process is presented in this article, with an emphasis placed on the significance of these concepts in promoting sustainable development. Purposiveness, rigor, practicability, cost-effectiveness, and public participation are some of the topics that are discussed. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process ensures that environmental considerations are included into decision-making by adopting these principles, which in turn reduces the risk of adverse consequences on the environment.
