The paper focuses on the identification and analysis of a short story according to the principles of pragmatic stylistics and discourse analysis. The focus on text analysis and pragmatic stylistics is essential to text studies, comprehension of the message of a text and conveying the intention of the producer of the text. The paper also presents a set of standards of textuality and criteria from pragmatic stylistics to text analysis.
