Abstract
Introduction: Road safety is important for all road users. Every year more than 1 million people are injured in road accidents in India. In recent years, the number of vehicles on roads has increased, as has the number of goods transported by road. This makes road safety even more important. Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge and awareness of road traffic safety among dental students. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional type of study, in which standardized structured questionnaire was prepared and given to dental students of various colleges. The sample size was about 250 and the duration study was 1 month. Results: The knowledge and awareness of the road traffic safety among dental students were found to be about 60%. Conclusion: The awareness of the road traffic safety among the dental students was satisfactory, and more awareness can be given through the social media.
