Abstract

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are an indispensable tool in our everyday life. The number of connected devices is rapidly increasing, along with their capabilities. However, such a growth leads to worrying electricity consumption. Green computing and networking aim at reducing the impacts of ICT on the environment. In this paper, we will attempt to quantify the ICT impacts and then review the main state-of-the-art propositions for sustainable computing.
