Abstract
The global problem of food security has a wide range of measurements, classified in accord-ance with the areas of origin of factors, the coverage of social segments of the population, geographical and others. The main goals to be achieved to provide the Sustainable Development Agenda for the period up to 2030 can be defined as quantitative increase and qualitative improvement of food products alongside with an extension of the access to food. The purpose of the current study is to examine the potential for the improve-ment of food security in entire Europe and in the world with the help of regulatory processes. Regarding food security Europe represents the most successful region, however in all countries there are social groups that face the problem of food security due to the low income level and thus have to receive food that is non-compliant with modern safety requirements or is unbalanced in nutrients. The tendency of the XXI century in the question of food security has become an integrated approach to the formation of a long-term policy aimed at solving this problem, the key element of which can be considered as regulation at the national and regional levels. While all European countries participate in the development of a common policy for ensuring the world's food security by participating in activities of the relevant UN, non-governmental and other organizations, every country has its own national approach to solving this important problem. At the regional level common approaches to the regulation of food security are developed and enhanced. The article analyzes the peculiari-ties of food security regulation at the regional level, the state of the food supply in European countries, the main areas of cooperation.
