A escola de Minas de Ouro Preto: o peso da glória

Abstract

Two educational institutions are of decisive importance in the life of Minas Gerais: Caraça and the Escola de Minas de Ouro Preto. They did, at a certain time, expressive work in the matter of education, worthy for what was done in the preparation of personnel and the accent of originality given to the life of the area. Hence its relief, justification of attention. More than simple schools, they are units that form a specific regional brand. Its study is essential and can contribute to clarify reality as well as political or economic notes. And it has been done, as can be seen in the works dedicated to fixing the trajectories of schools and courses, revealing something more than the result of classes, or of research centers.
