On purifiable subgroups in arbitrary abelian groups

Abstract

We determine the structure of a p-purc[pure] hull of a p-purifiable [purifiable] subgroup of nu arbitrary abeliim group. Morever, we prove that a subgroup A of an abelina group G is puirifiable in G if and only if A p-purifiable in G for evry prime p. Using these re-Milts, we characterize the groups G for whirh all subgroups are purtfiaMe in G. Furthermore, we cstabltsli several properties of purifiable subgroups.
