Abstract

Investigation to develop interaction relations and design criteria for headed steel anchor studs subjected to combined shear and tension loading. Anchors 3/4-in. in diam with full tensile embedment were tested under three different loadinconditions; 7/8-in. diam anchors with full tensile embedment in normal weight concrete made up the remainder of the primary tests. 3/4-in. diam anchors subjected to pure shear and pure tension near a free edge were also tested. The tests were performed using normal weight concrete. 3/4-in. diam anchors with partial embedment in normal weight concrete were tested in pure tension to examine the development of the full shear cone.
