Abstract

Emetophobia (or the fear of vomiting) is a poorly known phobic symptom belonging to anxiety disorders. its etiology is multifactorial at the crossroads of somatic and psychic causality. its evolution is often chronic. Emetophobia is responsible for difficulties in social integration and tends to restrict the patient's lifestyle. it often evolves around the fear of separation in the child and adolescent.
