Abstract

The Indonesian government in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic has issued a policy to carry out vaccinations. However, this policy has drawn controversy with the emergence of various criticisms from opinion leaders. From a theoretical perspective, the Covid-19 vaccination policy is the dominant discourse of the power structure. Meanwhile, the criticism of opinion leaders is the action of social practice through language to change the dominant discourse. Opinion leaders are individuals who have credibility and competence who are able to influence public opinion on an issue or policy. Therefore, this study aims to determine the practice of social opinion leaders on government policies regarding Covid 19 vaccination. Through a critical narrative analysis approach, important themes and sentiments are obtained in the practice of social opinion leaders. The themes are vaccine programs, vaccine dramas, types of vaccines, vaccine deviations, and the completion of the Covid 19 pandemic. Meanwhile, regarding the sentiments that emerged, not all of them expressed negative sentiments, there were several opinion leaders who expressed positive sentiments or supported the government's policy regarding the Covid 19 vaccine. All of the opinion leaders' social practices in critical narratives reveal that there are ideological interests in vaccine policy, such as the term "vaccine business". , but there are also manipulative social practices, such as the “vaccine drama”.
