Bibliometric Review on Fintech Adoption, Financial Inclusion, and Financial Wellbeing of Women Employees

Abstract

This study presents a bibliometric review of fintech adoption, financial inclusion, and financial wellbeing specifically among women employees, synthesizing global research published between 2010 and 2026. It examines how the rapid expansion of financial technologies such as mobile banking, digital wallets, and AI-driven financial services has reshaped financial access and management for women in the workforce. The review highlights that fintech adoption among women employees is influenced by factors such as perceived usefulness, ease of use, social influence, trust, and availability of digital infrastructure, while barriers including limited digital literacy, security concerns, and regulatory constraints continue to hinder equitable participation. The study emphasizes that financial inclusion for women employees extends beyond account ownership to meaningful and sustained usage of financial services, which directly impacts their economic empowerment, workplace productivity, and financial decision-making autonomy. However, financial inclusion alone does not ensure financial wellbeing. Women employees continue to face structural challenges such as gender pay gaps, workplace inequalities, work–life balance pressures, and financial stress, all of which influence their overall financial security and satisfaction. Further, the review identifies financial literacy as a key mediating factor that strengthens the relationship between fintech adoption, financial inclusion, and improved financial wellbeing among women employees. The study concludes by advocating for integrated and gender-responsive policy frameworks that combine digital access, financial education, workplace equity, and consumer protection to enhance the financial wellbeing of women employees in an increasingly digital economy.
