Abstract
Introduction: The 4th Industrial Revolution, characterized by the convergence of digital, physical and biological technologies, will affect the market we know and the importance acquired by information, as a result of the changes that occurred in each revolution, stimulating the development and the use of tools that enable continuous improvement in organizational processes. The objective of the present work was to analyze, through a theoretical framework, the relationship and the importance of Information Management in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Methods: This research has a qualitative nature and is descriptive exploratory. From a bibliographic review, it describes characteristics of the studied phenomena. It establishes relationships between Information Management and its strategic differential for the 4th Industrial Revolution. Results: It identifies that the 4th Industrial Revolution must focus on the integration of men and machines, and has in Information Management an important tool for competitiveness, without forgetting the dilemmas that surround this integration enclosed by profound changes, since the technologies that surround it provide substantial advances in economic, social and cultural issues. Conclusion: It realizes that complex and innovative organizations, which seek to benefit from the opportunities offered by the 4th Industrial Revolution, need to use Information Management as a principle for structuring their actions to be competitive in the global context. Managing an organization strategically towards the future requires constant updating and a predisposition to take risks and to innovate constantly.
