Abstract

The author comments on a study which assessed the influence of globalization on personal and structural violence. The researchers calculated the homicide rate in the world and found that it has increased by at least 50 per cent between 1984 and 1994. They identified other factors that affected the trend such as urbanization, rates of single parenting as well as transcience.
