Abstract
The aim of this text is to present the dossier Collectives in contemporary collective action: emergence, context, definitions and practices. From the emergence of collectives as a form of organization and contemporary collective action, the dossier brings together works that contribute to the analysis of the diversity of contemporary collectives and illustrates the expansion and solidification of this research agenda. The articles were selected from among those that responded to the dossier’s call for proposals and were grouped into three blocks with sub-themes on the universe of collectives. The first on Collectives and collective action contains three articles; the second on Collectives, culture and politics brings together two articles; and the third block focuses on Collectives and technologies: forms of use and appropriation of digital technologies by collectives and presents three articles.
