Abstract

Many scholars have explained the primacy of Arabic from its various aspects, but no one has explained specifically about the superiority of Arabic from its own linguistic aspect. This study seeks to explore and interpret the primacy of Arabic in terms of language based on the opinion of Ibn Katsir who argues that Arabic is the most eloquent, clearest, broadest, and most meaningful language for souls. This research use library research with descriptive content analysis. The research concluded that Arabic has the primacy of linguistic aspect for four reasons. First, Arabic is the most fluent language because it has the concept of fashahah Second, Arabic is the clearest language because Arabic has the Balaghah with its various aspects. Third, Arabic is the most extensive vocabulary and meaning because Arabic has a concepts to produce a lot of sentence meanings, among the concepts are al-Isytiqaq, al-Mutaradif, and al-Musytarak al-lafdzi. Fourth, Arabic can be very meaningful to the soul because of the 'Ilmu al-Uslub which can convey the effective meaning.
