Abstract
Companies need good quality human resources to make it easier for the company to achieve its goals. Employee performance will have an impact on a company. Low employee performance and quality can pose a threat to the company. This research aims to determine the influence of motivation, discipline, training, environment, and culture on performance with job satisfaction as mediation. The research method used was quantitative analysis. The data collection process involved a survey of 370 respondents. Questionnaires were distributed to employees in Batam City manufacturing industry. The results of the respondent data were tested using SmartPLS software. The results of the direct effect show that motivation, discipline, training, and culture have a significant effect on job satisfaction. Apart from that, job satisfaction also has a significant effect on performance. Meanwhile, the environment has no significant effect on job satisfaction. The results of the indirect effect show that motivation, training, and culture have a significant effect on performance, mediated by job satisfaction. Meanwhile, discipline and environment do not have a significant effect on performance, mediated by job satisfaction.
