Abstract

We propose a method to apply a texture analysis to landcover mapping of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data.Texture is a fundamental characteristic in image analysis.By using the texture analysis it is possible to findpatterns in an aerial image. For classification ofcategories we adopt the Kohonen's self-organizing map andcompare the results with those of the maximum likelihoodclassifier.
