In this article, the research focuses just on the first postulate of the Pierce Model, which is the sign postulate. The Pierce Model itself contains three primary postulates. This research piece explores the meaning of signs in both semiotics and cinema in relation to the society of the Indian Subcontinent as it is depicted in the film.
