Abstract
The evaluation of the leakage power and inductance of eddy current problems normally requires the computation of two integrals. In the case of an alternating current which flows through a plane loop of conductors with an arbitrary cross-section, however, both required quantities may be specified as the real and imaginary parts of a constant which may be found simply, such that the computation of those two integrals is not necessary. In order to show this, the plane eddy current problem is solved with the aid of an integral equation. The result of the numerical investigation for a loop of conductors with circular cross-section supports the theory's predictions. © 1978 Springer-Verlag.
