Abstract

Short, composite columns made from steel tubes filled with concrete were subjected to axial load plus bending moment to indicate the form of ultimate load interaction diagrams. Observations of axial load capacity and ultimate flexural capacity are discussed, together with data from laboratory tests on 30 round columns and 22 square columns.
