Abstract
The aim of this paper is to shed light on musical tastes and cultural practices of a certain category of older people: the festival. Starting from a survey we conducted in 2008 with a fifty festivals of music and dance, we seek to deepen the reflection on the age variable in the analysis of practices and musical tastes, from the case of more than 65 years that represent 20% of festival goers. We show that there are no festivals "seniors". Each generation haven't a palette of tastes However, old festival-goers have a range of cultural practices distinct from that of youth. These differences in tastes and practices appear to be increasing with the difference between populations. More differences between age groups and more the amount of taste differences are increasing. © Fond. Nationale de Gérontologie.
