Abstract
On base of the recommendations of energy requirement of cows the heat production was calculated of cows with 4000-12000 kg EKM (energy corrected milk = 4 % milk fat) annual milk yield. Under the conditions of energy requirement related feed energy supply and thermoneutrality the heat production increased by 40% within the mentioned range of milk yield. The results are a theoretical basis for measures in keeping animals and the construction of stables.
