Abstract
Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a progressive respiratory condition characterized by irreversible airflow limitation, significantly impacting global health. Despite advancements in conventional treatments, the chronic nature of COPD necessitates exploration of complementary therapies like homeopathy to enhance patient outcomes. Methodology: A thorough search of PubMed, SCOPUS, and Google Scholar identified clinical studies on homeopathic treatments for COPD. After screening based on specific criteria, eight studies were selected for review. Results: The review analyzed eight studies encompassing randomized controlled trials, observational studies, and clinical trials. Findings indicated mixed results, with some homeopathic treatments showing potential in alleviating COPD symptoms and enhancing quality of life. However, limitations such as small sample sizes and methodological variances highlight the need for further research. Conclusion: Homeopathy presents a potential complementary approach to conventional COPD treatments. While some studies suggest beneficial effects, conclusive evidence is lacking. Rigorous, large-scale trials are needed to validate these findings and establish homeopathy's role in COPD management. An integrative approach combining conventional and homeopathic treatments may offer the most comprehensive benefit to COPD patients.
