Abstract

I am sad to report the recent passing of Mary Gergen, one of our Associate Editors. Among her other responsibilities, Mary took charge of the special sections and special issues, and she was for many years, a much-valued member of our team. We will miss her. Mary was a pioneer in qualitative research, exploring its boundaries in creative ways, and she leaves the field of psychology with many books and articles that showed us new possibilities for understanding and representing human experience. In particular, she experimented with groundbreaking forms of presentation, exploring how words could be arranged on the page to capture essentials of the material she was working with. In honor of Mary’s legacy, we encourage the next generation to submit articles that similarly venture into new forms of scholarly writing.
