Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the effect of Transcultural Nursing-based health educationinterventions on family readiness in preventing hypertension in the elderly in Suci Village, Panti,Jember. Introduction explains that hypertension is an increasing global health problem, especiallyamong the elderly. Families have an important role in supporting hypertension prevention, but alack of knowledge and understanding is often an obstacle. The method used is a quasiexperimentaldesign with one group pre-test and post-test, involving families of elderly people atrisk of hypertension. The intervention consisted of health education and hypertension exercises. Results show a significant increase in family readiness after the intervention, with an average pretestscore of 92.18 and post-test 133.51. A paired t test confirmed that this difference wasstatistically significant (p < 0.05). Discussion emphasizes that culturally based health educationinterventions are effective in increasing family understanding and support for hypertensionprevention, as well as the importance of approaches that consider local values for long-termintervention success.
