Abstract

Fatuk, the Faculty of Architecture at TU Kaiserslautern, Germany, founded the series “Research Culture in Architecture” in 2018. In this international conference, whose first edition was held at the end of September, many current developments were presented and new research approaches were examined for their relevance for design. This unique possibility of cross-disciplinary networking inspired many participants. In the discussions, it became obvious, that the research fields often remain isolated and the link between them, especially within the core area of architecture, is often missing. Methodological approaches in architectural design, based on sociological, psychological and mathematical methods, can have an important role for conveying between the research fields.
