Abstract
Artificial sweeteners are food additives that can make sweetness on food without no nutrition addition. One type of artificial sweetener is cyclamate that usually used in the form of salts such as sodium cyclamate. Sodium cyclamate is easily soluble in water and resistant to heat. The use of sodium cyclamate which has been determined by the Indonesian Health Metric Regulation Number 722 / Menkes / Per / IX / 1988 is about 3 g / kg or 3000 ppm. The aim of the study was to determine the levels of artificial sweeteners (Sodium-Cyclamate) in cappucino, choco and oreo flavored drinks. This research was conducted in the chemistry laboratory of the Surabaya Nahdlatul Ulama University on January until May 2019 using 14 samples in various flavors, namely choco, oreo, and original which were sold in the Wonocolo area of Surabaya. Analysis of sodium cyclamate levels was carried out using the spectrophotometry method. Based on the results of study on samples of cappcino, choco and oreo flavored showed positive results but still within normal limits with an average of cappucino 0.035 ppm, choco 0.017 ppm and oreo 0.020 ppm. The three samples showed tht no significant differences
