The article presents the results of using optical methods of non-destructive testing during synthesis of diamond coatings (DC) from microwave plasma (the MPCVD method) on hard alloy tools for processing highly abrasive composite materials. Using the methods of optical emission spectroscopy and measuring the operating temperature of the substrates applying an infrared pyrometer, the average discharge power density in a microwave plasma reactor during the group growth of micro- A nd nanocrystalline DC has been found for the first time. Heating control of cobalt-bonded hard alloy substrates in microwave plasma reactor is practically achieved by feedback with the indication of an infrared pyrometer. Using the Raman spectroscopy method, we confirm the result of applying a high-quality DC on a tool with thin cutting edges.
