Grandparents-grandchildren relationships

Abstract

The objective of this study is to review and make a synthesis of peer-reviewed scientific research (articles and books) related to grandparent-grandchild relationships and grandparenting to boost Romanian research on grandparenting. The Internet was searched without limitations on the publication date, and only articles in English were included. Sources were analyzed from the perspective of the importance of grandparenting, of the difference between types of grandparenting, of the perspectives of study of the grandparent-grandchild relationships, of the main reasons and types of grandparent involvement, and of the impacts of grandparenting on grandchildren and grandparents.
