Abstract

The minimum shoot damage (2.0%) was recorded in Cypermethrin-treated plot followed by imidacloprid (2.2%) at 7 days after spraying of first spray, but after second spraying 1.3% shoot damage was observed in removal and destruction of infested twigs/fallen leaves twice a week along with application of Bt @ 0.5 kg/ha followed by neem gold @ 2 ml/l with mechanical removal of infected plant materials. The attack of Leucinodes orbonalis caused shading of flower buds and fruit bore with maximum fruit damage of 26.9 and 36.8% on weight and number basis. Removal and destruction of infested twigs/fallen leaves twice in a week with Bt @ 0.5 kg/ha showed minimum infestation of fruits (1.2 and 4.7%) weight and number basis and produced maximum healthy fruits followed by neem gold @ 2 ml/l with mechanical treatment. Cypermethrin @ 0.016% and imidacloprid @ 0.015% were found next effective treatment. The maximum yield of marketable brinjal fruit and maximum (202.5 q/ha) avoidable losses were found in treatment mechanical treatment+Bt application whereas, minimum yield (153.2 q/ha) was recorded in T. chilonis treated plot. Cypermethrin gave maximum C: B (1:36.7) followed by imidacloprid (1:22.3).
