Abstract

Over last few years, polyurethane (PU) has been applied in many fields by virtue of its mechanical strength, wear resistance, toughness, low temperature flexibility and other characteristics recently. To be more precise, PU materials can be screened through raw materials, improved formulas and so on to obtain the corresponding "customized"products. This gives the product "customizability"and further broadens the use of functional PUs. PU is one of the important coating materials in leather manufacture. This paper explores the academic research status of functional PU and its modification and application in leather production and leather finishing.
