Abstract

Industry 5.0 refers to the efficient utilization of the workforce of people and machines, in a combined environment. This concept has enough potential to redefine the manner in which skilled people are treated in the manufacturing scenario. Augmented reality, wearable devices, IoT, worker-friendly ergonomic design, mist computing, etc. are some of the important elements that may be associated with this advancement. This article briefly discusses the important technologies for the design of Industry 5.0 manufacturing systems and emphasizes on the adaptability of Industry 5.0 concepts for the mass customization of products.
