Abstract

The quality of life is a multidimensional construct and includes cognitive, emotional and behavioral, socialization and health perception dimensions. The aim of this study was to verify evidences of validity of the Quality of Life Questionnaire for Athletes (qqva) applying it in adolescent dancers (qqva-b). We evaluated 313 dancers, aged between 10 and 19 years (M = 15.56; ± 3.59) during dance festivals in Brazil, national and international level. Verification of validity evidences (expert evaluation to theoretical and practical pertinence, with adaptations for dancers and language - accessible to adolescents) was performed, in addition to verifying the validity evidence of internal consistency, with exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach alfa. The results, discussed throughout the article, indicate that the instrument has adequate psychometric properties for its use in dancers.
