Abstract

The book is comprised of a series of exercises in synthetic organic chemistry based around recent published syntheses. The exercises are designed to provide challenges for people with varying levels of experience from final year students to academic staff and industrial group leaders, allowing them to increase their 'vocabulary' of synthetic transformations. This novel approach, which actively involves the reader, would be an ideal source of topics for group discussions.; This book is intended for primary market: Final year chemistry undergraduate students and postgraduate synthetic organic chemistry; Secondary market: Industrial chemistry departments. Machine generated contents note: 1. Total Synthesis of ( -- )-Ovatolide -- 2. Total Synthesis of RS-15385 -- 3. Total Synthesis of Islandic Acid I Methyl Ester -- 4.
