Abstract

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition which affects 2% of the population The impairment of quality of life in patients with psoriasis is significant T cell activation plays an important role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis Traditional systemic therapies are effective but continuous use can be limited by side effects Biologics offer a new treatment option that targets specific stages of the inflammatory pathway Psychological management is a useful adjunct to standard psoriasis treatments.
