Abstract

This paper reports on a team of undergraduate students in Electrical Engineering Technology and Music and Arts Technology. The students developed a protype musical effects module utilizing real-time digital signal processing. The students defined the effects, selected a DSP development platform, designed a user interface. As a team, they created programs using applications from both the music and engineering technology curriculums. By leveraging tools from Lean Six-Sigma DMADV process (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify) the students were able to go from concept to prototype in seven weeks.
