Abstract
The "professional" management trend has not infiltrated the field of cultural man- agement to the extent it has the manage- ment of public administration and the private sector. However, the same forces that have had such a powerful impact on management research and training are rapidly gaining ground in the arts and cultural sector, forcing us to be on our guard.
