Abstract
The Correct analyses of construction equipment idle time have great importance for the cost-effective energy having of construction equipment’s in mega project. The higher productivity can achieve with the less idle time of equipment; however, by human usual observation, this is ideal time. This paper outlines an image-processing based methodology for calculating the idle time of hydraulic excavation automatically. Tracing algorithm and image segmentation are based on HSV. In terms of defining and tracing construction equipment, the HSV color space is beneficial than RGB color scheme. Experimental results demonstrate that given methodology ensures far more effective equipment management in the construction industry.
