Cost Analysis for Mass Customized Production of Satellites Based on Modularity

Abstract

In this paper, the cost model of mega-satellite constellation based on modularity is investigated. The aim of this work is to analyze the cost contributions in the development of satellite constellation, which include design cost, manufacturing cost, launch cost and operation cost. Simulation examples are given to demonstrate the cost savings and advantage of mass customized production of satellites based on modularity.
