Abstract

To accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of 2030, one of the efforts to ensure people's health is to preserve the health of mothers and children to reduce the number of miscarriages and birth defects. Based on the Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey, the number of neonatal deaths in Indonesia on 2020 was 20.6 deaths out of 1000 live births, while the number of maternal deaths was 230 deaths out of 100,000 live births in 2020. The application "Bunalita (Bunda dan Balita)"helps mothers during maternal pregnancy until the birth process to assure that the baby is healthy, and the toddlers grow properly. Bunalita application works with doctors, specifically obstetricians and pediatricians, to provide a right services and to accompany Indonesian mothers during their pregnancy up so they get a right treatment to lower the risk of maternal mortality and birth defects. This application is developed based on the Spiral Model method, following the first up to the third iteration of the method starting with communication with the prospective users and ending with software design validation. Our evaluation questionnaire concluded that 90.9% of respondents agreed that the application is useful for pregnant women and mothers, while 87.8% of them will recommend it to their relatives.
