Abstract

In this article we report a theoretical model based on Green's functions and averaging techniques that describes the dynamics of parametrically-driven mechanical resonators under the action of thermal noise. Quantitative estimates for quadrature thermal noise squeezing near the first parametric instability zone of the oscillator are given. Furthermore, the parameter space where these phenomena occur is presented. Very good agreement between analytical estimates and numerical results is achieved. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
