Abstract

Background: Anemia is a health problem that occurs in the community and is often found throughout the world, especially for women of reproductive age including adolescent girls. Adolescent girls who experience a deficiency of hemoglobin are at risk of experi encing anemia during pregnancy, which harms the growth and development of the fetus in the womb, causes complications in pregnancy, and chi ldbirth, and even causes maternal and child death. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of giving chicken liver to increase hemoglobin levels. teenage girl. Method: used in this study is a quasi-experimental method, with a One-group pre-post test design, which is a quasi-experimental conducted in one group without a comparison group. The sample is students of SMP Negeri 2 Patampanua who have hemoglobin levels below normal and are aged 14-15 years as many as 30 people. Data was collected using a questionnaire and examination of hemoglobin levels before and after giving chicken liver. Results: This study showed that there were differences in the hemoglobin levels of adolescent girls after giving chicken liver where the average value of the pre test was 11.15 g/dl. and the average value of the post test increased to 12.99 g/dl. Conclusion: The results of the paired simple t test showed a p value (0.000), meaning that there was a significant effect of giving chicken liver to increase hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls.
