Abstract
An adaptation of the pouch method for developing colonial growth of propionibacteria is described. Comparisons were made with the candle oats jar incubation method. The pouch method has distinct advantages of freedom from unwieldy equipment, ease of colony counting and retrieval, reduced incubation time, increased colony counts, and less need for incubator space. © 1968, American Dairy Science Association.
