Abstract
The intense debate over HidroAysén, the hydroelectric project in Chilean Patagonia, has overlooked the real conditions of a landscape that some want to protect and others wish to intervene upon. Based on the analysis of the discourses around this project, this paper describes the potential (in terms of landscape management) of an intervention of this magnitude on a territory that in all truth is not so pristine.
